A sanctuary for subconscious transformation
Hi, I'm Josie.
Founding MAP Practitioner
In 2020, I found myself in the midst of a perfect storm. I was navigating the heavy emotional toll of infertility alongside a cascade of physical challenges — eczema, edema, muscle pain, hair loss, insomnia, and anxiety. Searching for relief, I tried the usual routes: supplements, prescriptions, and endless internet research. But nothing brought lasting change.
Then, I discovered the MAP Method.
What began as a hopeful experiment quickly became a turning point. I realized that true healing wasn’t something I had to chase outside myself — it was already within me, waiting to be unlocked.
After the birth of my daughter, I committed to a deeper path of healing and self-discovery. I combined conscious personal growth with the profound power of rewiring the subconscious mind. The MAP Method became my most transformative tool—helping me neutralize dozens of traumatic memories and dramatically reduce or completely resolve many of my chronic symptoms.
Today, as a Certified MAP Method Practitioner in the greater Seattle area, I am devoted to helping you release the emotional and subconscious blocks that keep you stuck in cycles of trauma, stress, and persistent symptoms. I guide clients with compassion, curiosity, and a deep belief that the answers already lie within us all.
My mission is simple: to help you clear the mental and emotional clutter so you can reclaim your clarity, vitality, and peace—and feel both at home and empowered in your own mind and body.
FAQs about the MAP Method
What is the MAP Method, really?
The MAP method is a science-based modality that harnesses the power of our subconscious mind to facilitate healing. The process works by guiding your mind into a calm, semi-meditative state where the MAP Practitioner uses specific language to “update” how your brain processes certain memories, beliefs, or fears. The old programming, often rooted in childhood, is gently re-patterned at the subconscious level. You don’t need to consciously ‘figure out’ the solution; instead, your subconscious brain receives clear instructions to rewire old pathways and integrate new, empowering ones. Your subconscious mind is in control of the process at all times, you will be giving verbal responses, you’re awake at all times. Many clients describe their session as a mental de-cluttering, leaving them with greater clarity, fresh capacity for decision-making, and the ability to create new pathways moving forward.
Who is this for?
Anyone experiencing mental and emotional conditions like anxiety and stress. The MAP Method will help with:
- Rewiring old, self-limiting beliefs
- Reframing events from your past, often from childhood. Neutralizing the charge around painful or difficult emotional memories.
- Changing or eliminating unwanted habits
- Achieving a goal such as a career change or major move
- Treatment of phobias or fears
- Hypervigilance
- Many clients find success with reduction of chronic physical symptoms as well
What do I work on in my initial session?
In your initial session, we focus on the memory, pattern, or emotional block that feels most pressing for you right now. Using gentle, guided techniques, most clients experience significant relief quickly—many (around 95–97%) are able to resolve a painful emotional memory within a single 90-minute session.
Do I have to relive the details of my past trauma for the work to be effective?
No. While old memories or past experiences may surface during a session, you don’t need to retell or rehash the painful details for the process to work. The MAP Method allows your subconscious to do the heavy lifting—you simply hold the memory lightly in your awareness while we work with the emotions and patterns it carries. Our focus is on your present experience: how it feels now, where it shows up, and what your system needs to move forward.
Can I do this work if I’m already in therapy or on a healing journey?
Absolutely. The MAP Method complements therapy, somatic work, and other healing modalities. It adds an intuitive layer that can deepen your understanding and integrate what you’re already working on.
What can I expect in a session?
Prior to your first session you will watch a short introductory video (~ 12 minutes) priming your brain with the concepts that will be used in the introductory session. Early in the session, we identify what you’d like to work on, then I guide you into a relaxed state where your subconscious is more receptive. Using gentle, precise language, I help guide your mind to “update” old patterns without reliving the past. You stay awake and aware throughout the session. Most people finish feeling lighter, calmer, and clearer. Each session is around 75-90 minutes.
Is this available if I don’t live in Seattle?
Yes! While Gentle Reframe is based in Seattle, Washington, all sessions and products are available remotely. I work with clients across the U.S. and globally through Zoom and digital delivery.
What’s a Clarity Consult?
If you’re curious but unsure if the MAP Method is right for you, I offer a free 20-minute Clarity Consult. It’s a chance to learn more, explore what’s keeping you stuck, and see if this work feels like a good fit.
What may surprise you about MAP?
- It can be quite quick. Each session lasts from 75 to 90 minutes. Many clients reach a state of neutrality or relief on the session focus in just one session.
- It is quite gentle and empowering.
- The MAP Method is steeped in science but it’s energetically oriented too. Your practitioner will use both muscle checking and intuition throughout the session.
- The changes are often long lasting being that they have taken place at the subconscious level.
What the MAP Method isn't?
The MAP Method is a neuroscience-based approach to subconscious mind healing, and it’s important to know what it is not. Unlike methods such as EMDR, MAP does not require you to relive all the painful details of past events, you bring just enough awareness for your brain to identify what to work on without retraumatization. It is not hypnosis; you remain fully conscious, alternating between a relaxed, semi-meditative state and active verbal engagement. MAP also does not erase or “wash away” memories, but instead shifts how your brain perceives them, reducing the emotional charge so they are no longer triggering or limiting, allowing you to move forward with greater clarity and ease.
How is this different from talk therapy or coaching?
The MAP Method is not talk therapy, and it’s not advice-based coaching. Instead of analyzing or searching for the problem, MAP focuses on gently uncovering what your inner world is already trying to show you. Your subconscious will be your guide, revealing only what you’re ready to work on. It’s especially supportive for those who’ve felt underwhelmed by the results from traditional approaches.
